Habs VS Rangers

Thursday, we’ll have an Original Six matchup as the Montreal Canadiens are hosting the New York Rangers. It will be their last meeting of the season. On January 5th, Rangers won the first matchup 4-1 in Montreal, but the Canadiens upset the Rangers 2-1 at Madison Square Garden on Jan. 15.

Montreal

The Habs are on a 4 games losing streaks. They lost 4-3 in shootout, Tuesday, to the Carolina Hurricanes. It’s the former Habs player Jesperi Kotkaniemi who scored the deciding goal. Kotkaniemi has been drafted 3rd overall in 2018 in front of Brady Tkachuk. KK who has been through some rough time this season has now 30 points in 62 games, while Tkachuk has 66 points in 63 games.

New York

Since the recent trade with Chicago to acquire Patrick Kane, the Rangers are on a losing streaks of 2 games. They will try to end it against the Habs. Rangers are third in the Metropolitan, behind the Hurricanes and the Devils. It would be a great opportunity for Kane to score his first goal with his new team. I’ll go with the Rangers for that one!

A game you need to watch!

Tonight, in the Madison Square Garden, newly acquired Superstar Patrick Kane will make his debut against the Ottawa Senators. This matchup could also be the first game of Jakob Chychrun with the Sens. He has been traded Wednesday from the Arizona Coyotes.

I would not be suprise to see Kane scores his first goal with his new team tonight. He will probably play on the second line alongside his former teammate with the Hawks, Artemi Panarin. Remember that the 34-years-old forward has 16 goals and 29 assists in 54 games this season.

CHYCHRUN IS A SENS!!

I am absolutely shock!! I never could have imagine the Sens making this move, but they did it! The Arizona Coyotes defenceman Jakob Chychrun has been traded to the Ottawa Senators for a conditional first-round draft pick in ’23, a conditional second-round selection in ’24 (previously acquired from the Capitals) and a second-round pick in ’26.

We can therefore say that their objective is to make a push to make their first playoffs apparence since they lost the conference final in 2017. They already have some pression from their fans so I think the GM made this move to help his team win some games before the end of the season.

Patrick Kane with the Rangers?

Everyone knows it’s coming, but the Rangers technically need one more day of accrual to complete the roster they want.

Since the Chicago Blackhawks put their star forward Patrick Kane as a healthy scratch for Saturday’s road game against the San Jose Sharks, rumors intensify on a possible trade. The real question is not where, but when he’ll be traded. And for what? The Hawks will have to retain salary, it’s a no brainer. But who will be in the transaction on their way to Chicago? Chicago who is a team in a rebuild mode would probably prefer to get some prospect and good draft picks.

It would be absolutely insane to see Patrick Kane joins his former teammate Artemi Panarin. Kane said multiple times that his time playing with Panarin was the “funniest hockey” he’s ever played. Just imagine Adam Fox, Zibanejad, Kreider in front of the net, Kane and Panarin as bumper in the slot, all on the same powerplay. Adding Tarasenko, Lafrenière and Trocheck on the second powerplay, you have an incredible depth.

MR 50 GOALS

For the first time of his career, Connor McDavid hits the 50 goals mark. It’s in a 3-2 loss against the Boston Bruins yesterday, that McJesus scored his 49 and 50 goals of the season. He leads the league this year in goals (50), assists (65) and points (115).

Since he is in the league, Connor McDavid impresses everyone around him. Do you believe he’ll finish his season with an average above 2 points per game (he is at a pace of 1.89 right now)
